The 30 Minute Claim And Its Footnote
LG states that big loads of laundry complete in 30 minutes with TurboWash technology, and publishes its own qualification: the figure is based on internal testing in the normal cycle with the TurboWash option selected, using an 8 pound load, dated January 2022.
Two things follow. First, 8 pounds is a small fraction of what a 5.2 cubic foot drum holds, so describing it as a big load is generous. Second, this is internal testing rather than the independent testing LG cites for some other models, which is a weaker form of evidence. The feature is real and the cycle is genuinely fast, but the headline number applies to a specific small load with a specific option selected.
Efficiency Figures
LG publishes the numbers that allow real comparison: Energy Star Most Efficient, CEE Advanced Tier, an IMEF of 3.1 and an IWF of 2.9. IMEF rises with energy efficiency and IWF falls with water efficiency, so an IMEF of 3.1 puts this ahead of the 2.92 published for the LG WM3400CW while using water at the same rate. For a larger drum, that is a meaningful result rather than a marketing badge.
Features Worth Understanding
Steam is included as an option, and it is the mechanism behind the AAFA certified Allergiene cycle. LG states that its AAFA certified washers with that cycle reduce over 95 percent of allergens such as dust, pollen and pet dander, attributed to certification by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. That third party certification is stronger evidence than an internal test, and it is the claim on this listing most worth relying on.
Built-In Intelligence covers the AI Fabric Sensor and Smart Pairing. LG describes the sensor as selecting optimal wash settings, and Smart Pairing as letting the washer auto select a compatible drying cycle on a paired LG dryer. That pairing only works with a matching machine, and LG names the DLEX8900B electric dryer and the DLGX8901B gas dryer as the partners for this washer. Buying the washer alone means the feature sits unused.
An Add Item option lets a forgotten sock go in after the cycle starts, and a drum light makes the back of a deep drum visible. Both are small conveniences that only appear at this end of the range.
The program list is also broader than most. Alongside the usual normal, permanent press, heavy duty, delicates, towels, speed wash and bedding settings, LG includes sportswear, Bright Whites, Allergiene, a tub clean cycle and a downloadable program slot. The tub clean cycle is the one that should actually get used regularly, because a front load drum with a rubber seal will develop an odor without it.

The specification table contains several errors. Access location says top load on a front load washer. The controls type field says remote, which describes the app rather than the panel. Maximum rotational speed is recorded as 800 revolutions per minute, which sits oddly against a machine at this level and against the 1300 rpm figure LG publishes for its mid range models, and the listing does not resolve it. The 30 minute claim rests on internal testing with an 8 pound load. Smart Pairing needs the matching dryer to be worth anything. And with only one customer rating on the source listing, there is no accumulated buyer feedback to weigh at all.
Size is the practical limit. This is a full depth, full height machine that needs a laundry room rather than a closet, and stacking it requires the correct LG stacking kit rather than improvisation. It is the wrong purchase for a laundry closet, for a small household that will never fill the drum, or for anyone who wants the simplest machine that washes clothes. Those buyers should step down the range rather than pay for capacity and features they will not reach.
