Two of those features are genuinely new rather than renamed, and both are about the machine assessing what is in the container rather than following a fixed program.
BlendSense and Liquid Detect
BlendSense is Ninja’s sensing system. Rather than running a preset pattern of timed pulses the way Auto-iQ does on the Ninja BN701, it adjusts speed and time in response to what it detects in the container. The practical difference is that a preset program runs the same way whether the pitcher holds frozen mango or soft banana, while a sensing system adapts. The dial also indicates which mode the blender has selected, so the machine reports what it is doing rather than simply doing it.
Liquid Detect is the more specific feature and it addresses a real failure. In a single serve cup, a blend without enough liquid produces a pocket of air around the blade while the food sits untouched above it. Most people respond by running the motor longer, which does nothing except heat the motor. Liquid Detect alerts the user instead. Ninja is explicit that this works in the single serve cup only, not in the pitcher.
Ninja is similarly explicit that the ten variable speeds are available in the full size pitcher only. Those two qualifiers matter and they are stated in the listing rather than hidden: this is effectively two different machines depending on which container is fitted.
Reading the 1800 Peak Watt Figure
Peak wattage is the maximum instantaneous draw, typically at startup or under stall, and it is not the power the motor sustains through a blend. Ninja publishes 1800 peak watts here and does not publish an operating wattage.
For comparison, the Breville Super Q publishes 1800 watts as a straight motor rating with a 120 volt supply, which is a different and more demanding claim. A shopper comparing 1800 against 1800 across those two listings is not comparing like with like. Things To Consider
At 17.5 inches high this will not stand under a wall cabinet with the standard 18 inch gap once the clearance needed to lift the lid is allowed for. For a machine intended to live on a counter that is a real placement constraint, and it is shared with most tall pitcher blenders.
The feature split between containers is the thing most likely to disappoint. Variable speed control only works with the pitcher. Liquid Detect only works with the cups. Neither container gives the full feature set, and that is worth understanding before buying rather than discovering.
