Self-Clean is the one worth singling out. Small dishwashers accumulate food residue and biofilm in places a user cannot reach, and a plastic tub holds odor more readily than stainless steel does. A dedicated cycle that runs hot through the machine’s own plumbing addresses a real maintenance problem rather than adding a marketing line. Water use is 5 liters per cycle, which HAVA describes as a fifth of the amount used by hand washing. That comparison is the manufacturer’s own with no methodology stated. The verifiable figure is the 5 liters, which is the tank volume, and annual energy consumption is given as 150 kilowatt hours per year at a rated 950 watts.
The published interior dimensions of 13 by 13.77 by 10.83 inches, measured with the tableware basket in place, are more useful than the place setting count for working out whether a particular casserole dish will go in. Very few manufacturers in this class publish them at all.
The 18 Hour Delayed Start
The delay timer runs up to 18 hours, which is long enough to load in the morning and have the machine finish for the evening, or to shift the cycle into off peak hours on a time of use electricity tariff. HAVA points this out directly, and on an appliance drawing 950 watts for the better part of an hour it is one of the few features that can measurably reduce a running cost rather than just add convenience.
Installation, Power and Placement
No plumbing is needed in tank mode: the 5 liter tank is filled by hand before each cycle, and the used water has to drain somewhere, so a sink still needs to be within reach of the 61 inch outlet hose. Faucet connection is supported using the included inlet hose and adapter, in which case the sink is occupied while a cycle runs.
Electrically, this listing is the clearest of the three HAVA machines. It specifies 120 volts at 60 Hz with a rated power of 950 watts, which is a standard North American household outlet and a coherent pairing. HAVA does not state an amperage requirement or whether a dedicated circuit is advisable. Because the machine heats its own water, it should not share an outlet or an extension lead with another heating appliance.
At 18.05 inches high it will not fit under a standard wall cabinet on a counter once the clearance needed to open the lid is allowed for. Measure the vertical space before the width.

Things To Consider
The cycle names in the specification table, listed as Economy, Intensive, Heated Dry, Normal and Rapid, do not match the eight names in the feature description. The description list is the more detailed and internally consistent one.
The tub, racks and interior are polypropylene rather than stainless steel. That keeps the machine light and cheap and makes it less durable across years of hot cycles, and it holds water and odor more readily, which is presumably why the Self-Clean and 72 hour ventilation features exist.
At 60 dB this is loud for an appliance on a kitchen counter in an occupied room. A built-in machine such as the Bosch SHE53B75UC at 46 dB is dramatically quieter, though it needs plumbing and an opening.
Four place settings is small. A household of three or more will run it twice a day, and the six place setting Farberware FCD06SDWHT would suit better where a faucet connection is available.
There is no water softener on this model, which is what the TDJR09 adds. In a hard water area that is the difference that will show on the glassware. HAVA also notes that residual water in a new unit is normal following factory testing.
Who It Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere
This is the most sensible default among the HAVA countertop machines for anyone in a soft or moderately hard water area. The eight programs cover everything a small kitchen needs, the Self-Clean cycle addresses the main long term weakness of a plastic tub dishwasher, the delayed start has real value on a time of use tariff, and the electrical specification is stated clearly and coherently.
It is the wrong machine for a hard water area, where the softener equipped HAVA TDJR09 is the better choice, and the wrong machine for a household of more than two or three. Anyone with the space and plumbing for a full size machine should look at the built-in dishwasher range, and the alternatives at this size sit in the countertop dishwasher category.
